Monday, October 20, 2014: A joint report by the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and Frost & Sullivan estimates that the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry will reach a turnover of US$ 1 billion by 2015. According to the same report, this sector is expected to grow at a CAGR of 27.8 per cent year on year. In the light of such an impressive growth forecast, Electronics Bazaar attempted to find out the key players in the Indian EMS industry.
While most of the companies registered a growth in revenue, we observed a few significant changes — Dixon Technologies climbed to the second position in the list (from being ranked fourth last year). Also, Elin Electronics made a huge leap from the eighth position (last year) to rank fourth in the list, this year. Centum Electronics moved two positions higher, ranking seventh, and PG Electroplast too moved a slot higher to occupy the sixth position. In the case of SFO Technologies (third in the list), though it registered growth in its revenues, its ranking remained the same as last year. Rangsons Electronics, a new entrant in the list, is ranked No 5.
We also want to mention that some companies like Quad Electronics, Avalon Technologies, Syrma Technology, Benchmark Circuits, Donex Industries, Hical Technologies, etc, did not want to share their current turnover figures. Some MNCs like Sanmina-SCI India and Flextronics have also refrained from sharing their India revenues for FY 2013-14.
Disclaimer: While this survey is by no means comprehensive, it does provide a glimpse into many of India’s key EMS companies. While Electronics Bazaar’s editorial team has taken the utmost care to contact all possible sources to make the list comprehensive, we may have inadvertently left out a few companies from this list.
