Siyaram Verma, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of GB Nagar, revealed that he has conducted dialogues with delegates from numerous electric vehicle (EV) companies to encourage their involvement. At the trade fair, the companies are set to showcase various electric vehicles, encompassing cars, bikes, buses, and e-rickshaws.
The government of Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to host the UP International Trade Show in Noida from September 21 to 25. Approximately 20 electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers will be present at the event.
Prominent EV manufacturers such as Kia, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti, Toyota, BMW, Skoda, and Force Motor are slated to showcase their offerings as part of efforts to encourage the uptake of electric vehicles within the city.
In preparation for this, the state’s transport department has been instructed to set up a dedicated EV zone. GB Nagar’s Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Siyaram Verma, mentioned that he had engaged in talks with various EV manufacturers to foster their engagement in the event.
Additionally, to bolster this initiative, the transport department has extended a hand to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for assistance.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022, there has been a noteworthy spike in the adoption of EVs. The number of registered EVs in Uttar Pradesh escalated from 66,701 in 2021 to 3,37,180 as of July 2022, contributing to a nationwide tally of 13,34,385 EVs. This policy emphasizes Uttar Pradesh’s dedication to nurturing eco-friendly and sustainable mobility solutions, aiming to position itself as a frontrunner in India’s electric vehicle adoption landscape.
Furthermore, the UP International Trade Show aims to be a hub for various industries, including startups, the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, IT/ITes, animal husbandry, food processing, horticulture, dairy, automobiles, real estate, and the sectors of construction and engineering. The event welcomes visitors from 11 am to 8 pm on the initial four days (September 21-24), and from 11 am to 6 pm on the concluding day (September 25).
