Adani Group has said that one of their group company Parampujya Solar Energy, has won a project to set up 100 MW solar power unit in Chhattisgarh. The auction was conducted by Solar Energy Corporation of India.
The reserve price of the auction is Rs 4.43 per unit and the winner needs to supply energy at this cost. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) provides viability gap funding (VGF), or subsidy, of up to Rs 1 crore per MW to solar developers.
Adani’s bid was Rs 59 lakh per mega watt. Where as the losing bids by Azure Power and Spectrum Coal and Power were at Rs 84 lakh and Rs 89 lakh respectively.
India has been opening up many bids for solar energy generation and we have also seen a steep fall in prices per unit and this has been possible because of the number of tenders that are getting floated by the government.
Chhattisgarh is one state which has been quite progressive about using solar energy and the state government is also giving numerous incentives for those who are coming up with solar power plants.
