By integrating AI-driven antenna expansion technologies, this partnership is driving innovation in next-generation networks.

Anritsu Corporation is excited to share that SK Telecom (SKT), South Korea’s leading mobile operator, and Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), a premier institution in advanced research, have chosen the Anritsu Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A to validate groundbreaking mobile communication technologies. This initiative focuses on optimizing network performance by combining antenna expansion techniques with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
With the evolution of 5G-Advanced as outlined in 3GPP Release 18 and beyond, the demand for more efficient and high-performing mobile networks continues to rise. A key challenge is the interference that arises when increasing the number of antennas on a smartphone from four to eight. This collaboration has successfully demonstrated real-time AI-driven optimization, significantly improving data transmission speeds—all while maintaining the smartphone’s conventional size and frequency bandwidth.
The company’s MT8000A, a base station simulator that enables advanced mobile communication testing. Fully compliant with 3GPP standards, the MT8000A supports a wide range of test scenarios, including RF measurements, protocol tests, and application evaluations. Its modular design allows seamless adaptation for high-order MIMO (4×4 MIMO) and carrier aggregation (8CA), making it an essential tool for next-generation network research.
