It is still unknown if the increase in FUP limit in the BSNL broadband plans is applicable all across India or just Kerala
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced to decrease the fair usage policy (FUP) of its selected broadband plans in a move that appears to have been taken to tackle the competition posed by Reliance’s Jio GigaFiber. The state-owned ISP BSNL will be adding 50GB extra data on its three broadband plans – Rs 1,045, Rs 1,399 and Rs 1,895.
The three broadband plans namely BSNL Fibro BBG ULD 1045 CS48, BSNL Fibro BBG ULD 1395 CS49 and BSNL Fibro BBG ULD 1895 CS129 worth Rs 1,045, Rs 1,399 and Rs 1, 895, respectively, have been upgraded with slashed FUP limit.
Under the new rules, the first plan that originally had 100GB data at 30 Mbps data speed will now have 150GB data at the same speed. The second plan will now have 200GB data instead of the earlier 150GB at a data speed of 40 Mbps while the third plan that earlier had 200GB data has been updated to 250GB data at a speed of 50Mbps. In all the three plans, following the exhaustion of the data plan including the extra 50GB, the data speed will go down to 2Mbps.
