Aheesa Partners With Zigma to Take Indigenous VIHAAN-I Networking Chip to Market

VIHAAN-I is designed to support locally manufactured broadband devices and reduce dependence on imported networking silicon

Chennai-based fabless semiconductor company Aheesa Digital Innovations (Aheesa) has partnered with The Zigma Technologies India (P) Limited (Zigma) to take its indigenous networking chip, VIHAAN-I, to market across India.

Under the partnership, Zigma will serve as the distribution partner for VIHAAN-I, combining Aheesa’s semiconductor design capabilities with Zigma’s experience in technology, software and e-governance infrastructure.

The partnership follows Aheesa’s successful VIHAAN-I tape-out in January 2026 and first-pass silicon success in August 2026. The company said the chip achieved silicon success on its first attempt and is now set to move towards production, targeted for 2027.

VIHAAN-I is designed to support locally manufactured broadband devices and reduce dependence on imported networking silicon. The companies said Zigma’s established presence among OEMs, ODMs and government departments will support the deployment and distribution of the chip across India.

“This is a defining decade for India’s semiconductor story, as we move from technology consumption to technology creation,” said Sridharan Mani, Founder and CEO, Aheesa Digital Innovations. “It is our vision to see Indian-designed chips serving both domestic and global markets. The partnership with Zigma brings together two companies with complementary strengths and a shared ambition for a Viksit Bharat.”

Zigma has operated for nearly three decades across software, IT infrastructure, hardware and e-governance, working with government departments, OEMs and ODMs across India. The company said its experience in building and deploying technology infrastructure will help support the commercialisation of VIHAAN-I.

“Indigenous silicon is the natural next layer of that infrastructure. In VIHAAN-I, we saw a homegrown broadband chip we could take straight into the systems we help build and in Aheesa, a partner who shares our conviction about what Indian engineering can achieve,” said Raja Kathiravan, Managing Director, The Zigma Technologies India (P) Limited.

Aheesa develops indigenous semiconductor and networking technologies for applications spanning telecom, broadband, cybersecurity and edge computing. The partnership comes as India expands its semiconductor ecosystem, with initiatives focused on strengthening domestic chip design, manufacturing, packaging and materials capabilities.

The companies said the collaboration is aimed at supporting the commercial adoption of Indian-designed silicon and strengthening the country’s efforts to build a self-reliant semiconductor and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
