To fast-track automotive research and development, Altair India teams up with CAAR, IIT Madras, focusing on e-mobility, autonomous systems, and sustainable vehicles to lead global tech trends.
Altair India and the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, have recently partnered to drive R&D innovation within the automotive industry. The collaboration formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), will focus on advancing e-mobility, autonomous systems, and sustainable vehicles.
According to the companies, this aims to reduce product development timelines and position India at the forefront of automotive technology, aligning with global trends in sustainability and innovation.
Vishwanath Rao, Country Manager at Altair India, expressed that the partnership with CAAR and IIT Madras “is poised to drive innovation in the automotive sector.” He added, “This MoU underscores Altair’s commitment to delivering technologies that enable automotive sustainability, efficiency, and progress.”
Thiru Srinivasan, CEO of CAAR, emphasised the importance of the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with Altair marks a significant step in our mission to speed up the process of taking innovative concepts from academic research towards industry-ready technologies.”
He also noted that the collaboration would assist in refining Altair’s software tools, enhancing their application in the rapid development of high-value automotive products.
CAAR, founded under the guidance of the IIT Madras, serves as a bridge between academia and industry. It provides technologies and facilities to the automotive sector, offers policy advice, and focuses on developing human capital.
