According to a report by the Economic Times, aerospace firm Ananth Technologies has signed deals to build six foreign-owned satellites in India. Chairman and managing director Subba Rao Pavuluri told the Economic Times, that the company will open a full-fledged satellite making facility later this month in Bengaluru. It will build the satellites weighing between 50 kg and 250 kg for customers in Sweden and France in this facility.
30 per cent lower costs as compared to the West
As per the report, Pavuluri added that that company can integrate satellites at around 30 per cent lower costs as compared to the West. He did not mention the name of the customers due to confidentiality agreements.
The report added that Ananth Technologies has been a supplier of satellite systems and sub-systems for India’s space agency. It has also integrated solar panels for satellites. Pavaluri added that India has an opportunity to integrate medium-sized satellites. He told the Economic Times that this is due to the fact these satellites are designed to last for over five years and companies invest huge sums in building them. He added that the company is offering end-to-end service. This includes integrating the satellite, identifying the rocket and launching them from India.
