BASE batteries launches “Robust” VRLA battery

Longer Lasting VRLA batteries Backed by latest Computer Control Battery Formation Technology

basebatteriesThursday, March 06, 2014: Base Batteries a leader in the power back-up industry in India, today unveiled Base ‘Robust’ – power back-up battery specially designed for critical applications. Base ‘Robust’ is powered by VRLA technology, rating from 7Ah to 100Ah are fully maintenance free and zero fume batteries. They are manufactured with the latest Computer Control Battery Formation Technology, Base VRLA batteries can be used for powering ATM’s, Hospitals, Offices Servers, Railways, Telecom towers etc. These batteries are designed to sustain longer duration power backups.

Speaking on the launch of this product, Mr. Girish Arora, MD & Founder Base Batteries said, “The launch of the new “Robust” battery is testimony of our commitment, and has been designed keeping in mind the needs of our customers. Also, I brought this technology to India as a trader in 1987. Finally, manufacturing at my own plant 25 years later, brings great pride to the Base family.”

In 2012-13, Base registered an annual turnover of Rs. 897 crores, and has an average growth rate of 30% y-o-y, making it the 4th largest battery brand in the after-market segment in the country. Base is building India’s largest green-field battery manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which will be one of the largest in S.E. Asia. This mega-plant is spread over 235 acres and is built with an estimated cost of Rs. 457 crore in its first phase and will be commissioned in March 2014.

Base has its state-of-art manufacturing and R&D facility at Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The facility is spread over 30 acres and is surrounded by reserve forests and small rivers, the manufacturing plant is a unique mix of ecological ambience and next generation technology.

Base makes batteries from 2.5Ah to 200Ah for a varied range from two-wheelers, automotive, inverter, generator, ups & solar etc. Base has the distinction be the first Indian battery company to have tailor-made a special battery for a F1 car.
