BluSmart Launches New App, Expands Infrastructure For Public

BluSmart introduces its ‘BluSmart Charge’ app and extends its EV charging infrastructure to cater to customers across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru.

The eMobility ride-hailing service, and EV Charging Infrastructure network BluSmart has launched its new app for the EV charging service for the public. This app called ‘BluSmart Charge’ is now available for downloading in the Google Play and Apple App stores. It aims to make EV charging available and convenient across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru, catering to diverse customer needs.

Besides the app launch, BluSmart also expanded its EV charging infrastructure, opening its 50th EV charging hub in the country. This expansion will enhance BluSmart’s current infrastructure of over 5000 EV charging stations spanning over 1.8 million sq. ft. area, providing both open and underground charging facilities powered by sustainable energy resources.

The application aims at a cohesive experience for individuals as well as fleet operators. It will facilitate users to find appropriate chargers tailored to vehicle type easily, providing real-time information on the accessibility and status of charging stations. The users will be able to access the charging services on the go, as this app will ensure a secure and efficient payment procedure for both fleet operators and the general public.

Furthermore, this app will enable digitised entry and exit in BluSmart Charging Stations to enhance safety for the customers and create a centralised database on the number of cars. Through the centralised fleet management system feature, fleet operators will be able to monitor payments and charging sessions smoothly through their dashboards.

As per information provided by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, there are currently 10,186 functional public charging stations across India. Among these, 4,284 are managed by public sector undertakings (PSUs), while the rest are operated by private sector entities.

Anmol Singh Jaggi, the co-founder of BluSmart said that the lack of available charging infrastructure stood out as a significant challenge. Hence, BluSmart is at the forefront of efforts to broaden India’s presence in EV fleets and charging infrastructure. The app is a vital advancement in their commitment to developing sustainable solutions for promoting eMobility in India’s major cities. Tushar Garg, co-founder and CEO of BluSmart Charge, believes this app to be a ‘game changer’ and will essentially contribute to India’s rapid EV adoption.
