Saturday, April 26, 2014: Canon, the digital imaging firm, is now looking to target the network security camera market in the country. The announcement was made by Alok Bharadwaj, executive vice-president, Canon India, in Hyderabad during the launch of Canon’s new series of inkjet printers.
According to a Business Line report, he said, “We have made forays into photo albums, cinematography and medical imaging. Sometime later this year, we will launch our first product in the Indian security camera market.” Canon has recently launched its products in the security segment in some overseas market, revealed the official.
Bharadwaj said, “We see significant potential in this sector, as security concerns are rising, as also spends on security infrastructure.” According to an Assocham study, the market of closed-circuit television in India is growing at an annual rate of 30 per cent and is likely to be worth Rs 22,000 million by 2015.
