The company stated that the grant will act as a catalyst to speed up the development of technologically advanced vehicles for both local and international markets.

The Union Ministry of Heavy Industries has awarded Creatara, an innovative startup specializing in electric two-wheelers, a substantial grant of INR 3.9 crores. This funding, sourced from the Capital Goods Scheme, is designated for the enhancement and development of indigenous technology.

According to a company press release, this grant is expected to significantly accelerate the development of technologically advanced vehicles designed for both the local and international markets.

Vikas Gupta, CEO of Creatara, acknowledged the grant as a recognition of the hard work and dedication of his team. He noted that this support from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (GOI) will further motivate them to pursue their goal of transforming the electric two-wheeler market. Gupta highlighted that this recognition and financial backing are crucial for advancing the company’s mission.

Additionally, Creatara plans to use this significant financial boost to intensify its research and development efforts. The company is focused on advancing indigenous technology for electric vehicles and aims to significantly contribute to India’s vision for a sustainable and environmentally friendly future, as stated in the media release.

In December 2023, Creatara unveiled their electric two-wheeler prototypes, the VS4 and VM4, at the prestigious IIT Delhi’s Research & Innovation Park. These electric vehicles are designed with cutting-edge features tailored to enhance safety and performance. Notably, the safe-start technology integrated into these models necessitates a minimum rider weight to activate the vehicle, effectively preventing unauthorized use or accidental acceleration. Additionally, both the VS4 and VM4 are equipped with a passive cooling system for the battery pack, which significantly mitigates the risk of overheating.

A distinctive feature of Creatara’s design is the modular vehicle platform, which allows for significant adaptability to a variety of use cases. This flexibility is demonstrated in the Moto-Cross variant of the VM4, which boasts enhancements such as increased ground clearance and extended suspension travel. These modifications, along with specially designed panels, make the VM4 particularly suited for navigating challenging terrains and hillside environments. This adaptability underscores Creatara’s commitment to innovation and their ability to tailor their vehicles to meet diverse consumer needs and environmental demands.
