Driving a greener future, Crompton targets 50% GHG cut and eco-friendly consumer durables by 2035.
Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (CGCEL), an Indian consumer electricals brand, has announced its ambitious 2035 sustainability roadmap, aiming to halve Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and cut ceiling fan emission intensity by 60% compared to 2022 levels.
The initiative follows detailed Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG assessments across major product categories, including fans, lighting, pumps, and appliances, and demonstrates the company’s commitment to integrating sustainability across its value chain from manufacturing and supply chain operations to product use.
Crompton has already achieved recognition for its efforts, ranking fourth in the Household Durables sector in the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment and featuring in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025.
Alongside product innovation, Crompton is expanding its solar portfolio through solar pump tenders, rooftop installations, and solar lighting solutions, while gradually introducing solar power at high-emission manufacturing sites. A centralised ESG dashboard enables real-time tracking of emissions, water, and waste, complemented by a Sustainable Supply Chain Code of Conduct to bring key vendors into a structured emissions improvement framework.
Speaking on the launch, MD & CEO Promeet Ghosh said: “Our mission is to build a resilient, low-carbon business that anticipates consumer preferences for sustainability, drives innovation, and sets a new benchmark for responsible consumer durables in India.”
Crompton’s roadmap positions the company at the forefront of environmentally responsible innovation, shaping a greener future for both consumers and the planet.
