Daikin India Aims Rs 6,400 Crore Turnover in 2 Years

Daikin India is expecting a revenue of about Rs 4,200 crore in the current fiscal of 2018-19. It recorded a turnover of Rs 3,250 crore in the last financial year.

On account of strengthening position in Indian market and rising exports to SAARC region, Middle East countries and eastern Africa, Daikin India, a leading air conditioner company, is aiming to reach an annual sales turnover of about Rs 6,400 crore (100 billion yen) in the coming two years.

Daikin India, a unit of Japanese multinational Daikin Industries, currently has two functional plants in Neemrana town of Rajasthan. The company is in the final stage to select a location for the third manufacturing unit in the country to cater the exports market.

“Daikin India with now managing business across East Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal have set a target to achieve 100 billion yens, riding on the back of exports and third factory by 2020-21,” PTI quoted Kanwaljeet Jawa, MD and CEO, Daikin India as saying.

The company is expecting a revenue of about Rs 4,200 crore in the current fiscal of 2018-19. It recorded a turnover of Rs 3,250 crore in the last financial year.

Export focus

Jawa further said, “The third manufacturing facility of Daikin in India will serve the increasing domestic consumption and exports to SAARC countries, Middle East and East Africa. The third unit would improve the cost structure and make us more efficient and export-oriented.”

The countries having weather patterns like India will get benefit of the production in India in the form of reduced prices and delivery time due to multiple connectivity options, he said.

Daikin India is also expecting that the sales of its ACs in the local market would increase in the coming years and witness a double-digit growth as Indian economy is growing.

Daikin has entered into the segment of commercial refrigeration and cold chain business in 2018. Currently, the company has a capacity to produce 15 lakh room ACs, 1 lakh cassette units, 50,000 VRV units, 1,000 chillers and 20,000 ductable units.
