McLaughlin will lead regional strategy and sales across APJC markets reporting to global sales chief Pete Trizzino.
Dell Technologies has appointed Richard McLaughlin as president of its Asia Pacific Japan and Greater China region, effective immediately. He succeeds Peter Marrs, who will transition into a senior leadership role within Dell Technologies in North America.
In his new position, McLaughlin will be responsible for driving corporate strategy and sales across the APJC region, which includes Australia and New Zealand, Greater China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and South Asia and Emerging Markets. He will be based in the region and will report to Pete Trizzino, president of Global Sales.
McLaughlin joins the role with extensive global sales and leadership experience. Most recently, he served as senior vice president in Dell Technologies global sales organisation, where he led a worldwide team delivering technology solutions to multinational customers. Since joining Dell in 1999, he has held a range of senior roles, including vice president for the Americas and director for global financial services accounts.
Prior to Dell, McLaughlin held leadership positions at IBM Tivoli, Compuware, Princeton Softech and NCR, building a broad background across enterprise technology and services.
Trizzino said McLaughlin’s global expertise and customer focused approach had delivered strong outcomes worldwide and would support continued growth in APJC. He also thanked Marrs for his leadership in the region.
McLaughlin said the APJC market presents significant opportunity and highlighted Dell Technologies strong portfolio and culture of innovation. He added that the company will help customers adopt artificial intelligence, simplify operations and accelerate growth across the region.
