Aiming to revolutionise the global EV sector, Ecozen and Volektra have joined hands to push magnet-free plug-and-play motors for eco-friendly transportation.
Ecozen, an Indian developer of sustainable technology, recently announced an investment collaboration with Volektra, a German EV tech firm. Partnering with investors like Thinkuvate and Growthfactory, this venture aims to merge Ecozen’s motors, controls, IoT, and analytics with Volektra’s magnet-free motor technology (SEEM) for electric vehicles.
The partnership involves Ecozen’s controllers, which will enhance Volektra’s Vollkits, converting traditional micro-vehicles into electric powerhouses.
As the company stated, these plug-and-play units, which have been successful in Europe with over 20,000 three-wheelers and e-bikes, will create cost-effective, sustainable transportation.
Furthermore, unlike traditional EV motors using rare earth magnets, Volektra’s SEEM technology promises an eco-friendly and high-performance alternative for electric mobility.
Commenting on the partnership, Volektra’s Founder and CEO Manish Seth noted, “Our magnet-free motor technology (SEEM) eliminates the need to use rare earth minerals, which enables better control while contributing to a cleaner environment.”
Addressing this investment as a “game-changer”, Devendra Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of Ecozen, stated, “By eliminating the reliance on rare-earth magnets, we are not just enhancing efficiency, we are leading the charge toward a more sustainable future in transportation.”
Based in Pune, Ecozen Solutions provides climate-smart deep tech solutions, including motor controls, IoT and energy storage for environmental and economic gains.
Volektra, headquartered in Munich, Germany, develops modular electric drivetrains and conversion kits, enabling existing vehicles to be easily upgraded to efficient electric vehicles.
