Offering a compact design and high efficiency, the module supports various applications across industries.
Element14 has added the microBRICK® regulator module from Vishay Intertechnology to its product lineup, enhancing its power management offerings. The module is recognized as the smallest DC/DC regulator available in the market.
The microBRICK is a synchronous buck regulator module featuring integrated power MOSFETs and an inductor. It delivers a continuous current of 20 A and operates at up to 2 MHz switching frequency. Its adjustable output voltage ranges from 0.6 V to 4.5-18 V input, supporting diverse applications in computing, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and industrial sectors.
The module’s design ensures rapid transient response with minimal output capacitance and stable ripple regulation under low-load conditions. It features internal compensation, eliminating the need for an external ESR network for stability. The power-saving scheme enhances efficiency under light loads.
Safety features include output over-voltage protection, cycle-by-cycle over-current protection, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and user-programmable soft start. The regulator comes in a lead-free PowerPAK® MLP60-A6C package with dimensions of 10.6 mm x 6.5 mm x 3 mm.
Rob Burton, Global Product Segment Leader for Power Management at Element14, highlighted the regulator’s potential for high performance within a compact design. Tony Callow, Distribution Account Manager for Vishay, emphasized its efficiency and wide input voltage range, noting Element14’s role in distributing the product.
Vishay produces a broad range of semiconductors and passive components essential for automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical applications. The company is listed on the NYSE under the symbol VSH.
The microBRICK module is available for purchase through Farnell in EMEA, Element14 in APAC, and Newark in North America.
