Indian electronics industry is today the cynosure of the global world, not only for the immense growth opportunities that exist but also for the various on-going initiatives aimed at making India a preferred destination for electronics system design and manufacturing. Indian electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.9 per cent from 2012 to 2015 which is almost twice the global average growth in the electronics industry.

Monday, July 15, 2013: Frost & Sullivan hosted its Electronics Industry Excellence Awards 2013 July 9, 2013, in New Delhi to honour companies and their best practices that enabled them to remain resilient inspite of the current challenging market conditions. These awards have been instituted to recognise and reward these industry best practices in business-to-business (B2B) electronics as well as business-to-consumer (B2C) electronics market segments. These Awards symbolise the individual recipient’s commitment, dedication and endeavour to focus on meeting customers’ needs and to take customer satisfaction to an optimum level in the industry. The awards were further divided into multiple sub-categories.

The awards covered consumer electronics, electronic security, auto identification and data capture technologies, semiconductors, and LED lighting market categories. The assessments brought forth latest trends in all these sectors with the common theme being focus on innovation and customer centric business models to achieve better growth.

On the occasion, Niju V, Director, A&E practice, Frost & Sullivan, said, “Despite the challenging economic climate in 2012, the award recipients demonstrated great success with customer focused strategies. A focus on innovative business models to adapt to changing customer requirements, strategies for new revenue streams through product/ technology innovation, and increased focus on market segmentation in mature sectors has been some of the common best practices across this year’s award recipients.

The B2C award recipients were announced based on the findings from in-depth customer research surveys. The B2B Award contenders were judged based on a variety of parameters like revenue, market share, product introduction, innovation and diversity, business, and market strategy. Results were collated after conducting detailed research and assessment on market performance of companies, including in-depth primary interviews of various industry participants and secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan analysts. An elite and independent panel of judges comprising some of the most prominent names from the Electronics industry deliberated on the findings of the analyst teams and finalized winners.
