In what can be termed as a great initiative for technology start-ups, the Gujarat government has announced a first-ever ‘IT and Electronics Startup Policy’, in a bid to encourage companies to come and innovate in the state. The government has announced slew of incentives and schemes for those who invest in Gujarat.
While announcing the policy, CM Anandiben Patel said that the policy will be applicable only to information technology (IT) and electronics related startups. She said that youth should apply their minds to constructive work instead of engaging in ‘andolan’.
“Under the new policy, the Gujarat government would develop 50 incubators to mentor and guide 2,000 startups in the next five years. Our aim is to attract an investment of Rs 7,000 crore through this policy. The Gujarat government will allot around 10 lakh sq ft of land for development of 50 incubators, which will provide guidance to budding innovators in setting up their startup units,” said Anandiben Patel.
There are many incentives which the central government is also providing to start-ups and now a state government has also come forward to encourage budding entrepreneurs. It is expected that these kind of policies will go a long way to shape the future of the country’s youth.
