Hero Group to produce 1GW renewable energy in India

Thursday, September 05, 2013: Hero Group, which has stunned India with its excellent achievement in the two-wheeler market is now going to invest in the energy sector. The company is likely to develop a plant that would be able to develop renewable energy up to 1000 mW by the year 2017.

The new unit that they are going to establish for power generation is likely to be known as Hero Future Energies. The name itself suggests that this form of renewable source of energy is going to be the future of electricity in India. The company has been successful in developing their first wind farm. The wind farm would be capable of developing electricity to the extent of 37.5 MW. This wind farm is located in the state of Rajasthan.

Further, the company has got the license to establish another energy development plant in the state of Karnataka. The Karnataka plant is likely to be a solar photovoltaic plant. Thus, the Rajasthan plant is about to develop wind energy while the Karnataka plant is going to develop solar power. The emailed statement made by the managing director of the Hero Future Energies revealed such information. The Managing Director of the Hero Future Energies is Rahul Munjal.

The managing director has also mentioned that the company is also willing develop 100 MW energy plants. The renewable energy plants are likely to be wind power plants and solar power plants. Thus, the pace of renewable energy development in India is likely to bring about a 1 GW.
