Indian fabless startup offers local manufacturers a seamless, USB-based plug-and-play solution for wireless surveillance integration.
Fabless chip design startup IndieSemiC has launched the “ISC-8188-B”, a Made-in-India Wi-Fi module designed to connect IP cameras, surveillance systems, and other vision devices to wireless networks.
‘The module serves as a simple USB-to-Wi-Fi bridge, allowing camera and device makers to add wireless connectivity to their products via a standard USB connection without redesigning their existing hardware,’ the company said in a statement.
The ISC-8188-B has been designed and developed in India and is STQC (Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification)-compliant, making it easier for local vendors to source wireless connectivity components domestically.
‘Camera and vision devices in India are becoming more capable, but many still depend on imported modules for something as basic as Wi-Fi connectivity,’ said Nikul Shah, founder and CEO of IndieSemiC.
‘With the ISC-8188-B, we wanted to give Indian camera and IoT manufacturers a wireless module that is designed here, easy to integrate, and ready for their production lines from day one.’
Samples of the ISC-8188-B are currently available for OEM evaluation.
