Four new Earth observation satellites deployed as production capacity doubles to meet growing global demand.
Iceye has successfully deployed four additional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites into low Earth orbit, further strengthening its global Earth observation constellation. Among the new payloads are two satellites launched in partnership with CTI Aeroespacial and the Portuguese Air Force for Portugal’s Atlantic Constellation, doubling its existing orbital footprint.
The satellites were integrated by Exolaunch and lifted off aboard SpaceX’s Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission from Cape Canaveral on 20 October 2026.
This latest launch marks Iceye’s second successful mission this month, following the deployment of four SAR satellites on SpaceX’s Transporter-18 mission on 1 October 2026. These back-to-back launches bring the company’s total number of deployed SAR satellites to 84, serving both Iceye’s commercial operations and dedicated customer missions. Seven European governments have now procured sovereign satellite capability through the provider.
The rapid flight cadence coincides with a significant scale-up in manufacturing. Iceye is currently on track to double its production output from 50 satellites per year to an annual target of 100 by 2027.
The expansion follows the recent delivery of a fully operational sovereign space system to the Polish Armed Forces. Achieved in under 12 months from contract signature to operational deployment, the project represents one of the fastest sovereign space rollouts in history. Iceye is now replicating this rapid-deployment model across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia to satisfy accelerating international demand.
