IESA-TiE Bangalore sign MoU with Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) at IoTNext 2016

India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), the premier trade body representing the Indian Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry, with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Bangalore and TSSC announced a MoU for opening a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bangalore represented by Lt Gen (Dr) SP Kochhar, AVSM,SM,VSM (Retd) CEO, TSSC, Naganand Doraswamy, President, TiE Bangalore and K Krishna Moorthy, Chairman, IESA, Corporate Vice President & Managing Director, India Design Center Rambus Chip Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.

The second edition of the flagship event, IoTNext 2016, saw a huge turnout from industry thought leaders, startups and stakeholders in the IoT sector. With this collaboration between TSSC, IESA and TiE, the CoE will help in providing a platform to skill, develop and train blue collared workers in the field of IoT. It will empower the group to focus on gaining competency using some of the best practices and help in creating job opportunities for them as the industry shifts towards automation.

IoTNext has mentored around 16 startups since its inception and amongst which Cardiac Design Labs won Google LaunchPad Award with proven success of the mentored startups to work with them to turn their dreams to reality.

The theme of the global summit this year is, ‘Realities and the Road Ahead’ which included keynotes addressed by distinguished speakers. Marc Carrel-Billiard, Managing Director of Global Technology R&D, Accenture, Shalini Kapoor, Distinguished Engineer, CTO – IoT Ecosystem Solutions, IBM, Munesh Makhija, Vice President – GE India Technology Centre Pvt. Ltd & CTO – GE South Asia and Madhav Narayan, Senior Director, Business Strategy, Intel Technology India highlighted the exciting new opportunities of IoT in the country with the evolving business environment, innovative strategies involving IoT in use and the industry roadmap.

At the summit, TiE-IESA also launched a unique IoT Start up directory, which is a compilation of startups working in the field of IoT across the nation. The directory will be an online repository with detailed information on the startups and the unique products and services they offer.

TiE- IESA has also joined hands with HAX Accelerator, world’s leading hardware startup accelerator to support Indian startups. With their experience and expertise in incubating many successful startups across the globe, HAX will accelerate selected startups, with best-in- class prototype in manufacturing and access to global markets.

The summit will focus around the areas of IoT security with a joint task force with CISO, LPWAN on the state of affairs to cover large distances with low power radios, Agriculture and Food and IT Platforms & Analytics.
