The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Hyderabad, in collaboration with TCS iON, launches an online VLSI Chip Design certification program.
The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) has begun registration for an online certificate course in VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) Chip Design, in partnership with TCS iON. The programme is offered under IIT-H’s Centre for Continuing Education.
Eligibility extends to undergraduates and postgraduates in electronics and related fields, fresh graduates seeking entry-level opportunities in the semiconductor sector, and working professionals aiming for career progression or higher salaries. The programme is also described as suitable for those considering research or entrepreneurship in VLSI.
The registration fee is ₹14,160, while an optional one-week bootcamp on campus is priced at ₹9,440. Enrolments will close on 30 September, and classes are scheduled to run from 8 October to 29 November.
Participants will gain hands-on exposure to industry-standard EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools such as Cadence and LTSpice. The 45-hour course will cover fundamentals and advanced aspects of chip design, including both analog and digital integrated circuits. More than 40 hours will be dedicated to experiential learning through live online sessions.
IIT-Hyderabad provides the faculty and course content, alongside offers mentorship, career guidance, and projects designed to simulate real-world semiconductor design tasks. The faculty team includes Prof Ashudeb Dutta, Dr C.H. Gajendranath Chaudhury, Dr Abhishek Kumar, Dr Rajesh Kedia, and Dr Kapil Jainwal from IIT-H.
In this partnership, TCS iON will provide the digital platform and industry linkage. TCS iON manages registration, online delivery, assessments, and certification logistics, allowing the programme to scale to a wider pool of learners. The certification will carry both IIT-H and TCS iON branding, combining academic credibility with industry recognition.
For participants opting for the bootcamp, on-campus training will provide direct access to IIT Hyderabad labs and additional guided practice.
