Monday, April 28, 2014: If online reports are to be believed, India-born Rajeev Suri will take over as the next Nokia chief. Nokia, which is in the final stages of closing the sale of its phone business to Micorosoft, will not outline a new strategy for its networks equipment business.
According to a daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, Nokia will announce its first quarter results on Tuesday, and along with that, the company will also share as to how much cash it would pay out to shareholders.
It is worth mentioning here that investors have been looking forward to hear from the company ever since it has announced the 5.4 billion euro ($7.5 billion) deal with Microsoft in September. Earlier this week, Nokia indicated that the deal should close soon as the companies had agreed to modify certain conditions on the deal.
Rajeev Suri is being considered for this post for a long time as he has been instrumental in turning the network division Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) into a profitable venture. The newspaper also claimed that the Finnish company may also consider ditching the name NSN over time. Nokia is tight-lipped about any such development as of now.
