India electronics and semiconductor association (IESA) announces Technovation 2012 awards

The India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) announced the Technovation 2012 Awards on the first day of the IESA Vision Summit here in Bangalore. The Technovation Awards is an IESA initiative to “Celebrate excellence in ESDM” by recognizing honouring professionals and organizations from industry and academia.

“At the IESA, we believe that technology and innovation are the two pillars of the electronics and semiconductor Industry and the IESA Technovation Awards recognizes and honor excellence in these. Every year through the Technovation Awards we come across excellent R&D ideas, best in class mentors, innovative products & start-ups and leadership companies, each of which takes us one step closer to technology self-reliance” said Dr. Satya Gupta, Chairman, IESA, speaking at the awards ceremony.

“Like in years past, this year too we have been able to identify industry leaders, academicians and young technocrats for their achievements in electronics & semiconductor and reward them. We hope we would be able to leverage their knowledge, experience and expertise to make India a true global leader in electronics,” said Mr. Sanjeev Keskar, Vice Chairman, India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), speaking at the awards ceremony.

The awards were decided by two independent juries, one each for the Industry awards and the Academic awards.

The jury for the Industry Awards was headed by Mr. Vasudevan Moorthy, Vice President, Product Engineering Solutions, Wipro Technologies Limited and consisted of Dr. Manoj Choudhry, General Manager and Head, SAIT India Lab, Samsung India Software Operations and Mr. Prakash Eswaran, Vice President and CTO, Cosmic Circuits Pvt. Ltd., Mr. MA Mohamed Saliya, Managing Director, iWave Systems Technologies Pvt. Ltd. And Prof. D. T. Shahani from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

The jury for the Academic Awards was headed by Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and comprised of Professor Abhay Karandikar, Professor and Head, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and Professor H. S. Jamadagni, Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The IESA will continue in their initiatives to identify and reward excellence in the field of electronics which is a key initiative towards India’s achievement in self-reliance in electronics.
