Strengthening its India focus, MacDermid Alpha appoints a new VP to drive strategic growth.
MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions has appointed Dr Ravi Bhatkal as Vice President, Strategy, India, a newly created role aimed at driving the company’s expansion in the country. He will report to the Executive Vice President and focus on initiatives to accelerate business growth and transformation in the Indian market.
The role comes at a time when India is pushing to strengthen its electronics manufacturing ecosystem through government programs such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). These initiatives are designed to attract investment, support domestic innovation, and improve supply chain resilience.
Dr Bhatkal has over two decades of leadership experience across the electronics, advanced materials, and energy sectors. He previously headed commercial operations in India for the Semiconductor Assembly Solutions division at Element Solutions Inc. and has held senior positions including Vice President, Energy Technologies, and Managing Director, India.
In addition to corporate roles, he serves on the board of iNEMI and advises academic and research institutions such as IIT Madras and the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute. He holds a PhD and MS in Materials Engineering, along with an MBA, and is a published author and co-inventor on several patents.
The appointment underscores MacDermid Alpha’s plans to expand in India and align with the country’s broader ambitions to emerge as a global hub for electronics manufacturing and system design.
