Chhagan Bhujbal was present as a chief guest at Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Workshop organised by CEAMA.
Indian electronics industry needs to focus on strengthening their R&D activities to compete and grow in the global market, said Chhagan Bhujbal, minister of public works and tourism, Govt. of Maharashtra. Bhujbal was present as a chief guest at Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Workshop organised by CEAMA on 22 February, 2013, in Mumbai, with support from Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).
Speaking at the workshop, Bhujbal talked about liberalisation and economic reforms and its positive effect on the electronic industry. Dr. Ajay Kumar, joint secretary, DeitY, delivered the keynote address, where he spoke about the second sun rise for the electronic industry. He briefly discussed the steps being taken by the Govt. of India under the National Policy on Electronics for growth and development of the ESDM sector.
Welcoming the national policy on electronics, Anirudh V Dhoot, president, CEAMA and director, Videocon Industries, highlighted the role of state governments in successful partnering with Govt. of India for ESDM Policies such as setting up of Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), etc.
