Advanced MW-scale hydrogen rectifiers, engineered with global technology, and manufactured locally to give a new height to India’s green hydrogen drive.
Statcon Energiaa, India, has signed a licence-and-supply agreement with Germany’s AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS) to design, manufacture, and service megawatt (MW)-scale hydrogen rectifiers for green hydrogen production domestically.
The agreement promises Indian customers access to globally recognised German rectifier technology, which will now be manufactured in India with local customisation, faster after-sales service, and long-term support.
The collaboration will see integration of AEG PS’s advanced core components, including Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBTs), and thyristors, into rectifier systems. Statcon Energiaa confirms delivering versatile MW-scale rectifiers, capable of handling various voltages and currents, by utilising advanced designs from AEG PS.
On the technology front, the introduction of IGBT-based MW-scale rectifiers, compatible with both Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and alkaline electrolysers, is expected to fulfil high efficiency, low harmonic distortion, and scalability needs for India’s hydrogen sector.
The company claims the deal is a significant step towards technological self-reliance and industrial job creation, enabling local production of advanced hydrogen infrastructure components and setting the way for boosting exports.
