Monday, September 08, 2014: India’s largest solar EPC company, L&T Construction, commissioned the world’s largest Solar Photovoltaic Plant of 7.52 MWp capacity on a single roof at Amritsar in Punjab, as told by Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
The plant’s generated energy is being fed to the local grid through a PPA (power purchase agreement) which was signed with the state distribution company under the New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) Policy. L&T has employed multi-crystalline module technology and central inverters for this project to enhance the performance. More than 30,000 panels have been installed on the rooftop of the shed.
L&T’s senior executive vice president (Infrastructure and Construction), S.N. Subrahmanyan, said on this achievement, “This is for us, at L&T Construction, a significant step towards establishing our credentials as the country’s largest and leading Solar EPC Company. It is also extremely creditable that this state-of-the-art solar power plant has already exceeded the estimated performance.” Larsen & Toubro shares at BSE are trading at Rs 1,596.60, which has gone up by 1.26 per cent from the previous numbers.
