Lumax Auto Technologies is investing ₹150 crore in a new mechatronics plant at Manesar, Haryana, to manufacture automotive electronic components, including body control modules (BCMs), for leading automakers. The facility is projected to generate ₹500 crore in annual turnover at peak capacity.
The plant will expand Lumax’s automotive electronics business as automakers increase the electronic content of vehicles. Funded through debt and internal accruals, the facility will be commissioned in two phases, beginning in the third quarter of FY28.
The projected annual turnover is equivalent to around 10.3% of Lumax’s FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹4,870.33 crore. However, the company has not disclosed when the plant will reach peak capacity, its expected returns or the contribution to profit.
The investment comes amid strong financial growth. Lumax’s consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders rose 57.8% year-on-year to ₹105.51 crore in July–September 2026, while revenue from operations increased 34.5% to ₹1,555.51 crore. Profit before tax climbed 47.8% to ₹154.24 crore, lifting the pre-tax margin from 9.02% to 9.92%.
Material costs rose 43.2% to ₹940.40 crore, outpacing revenue growth, while employee expenses increased 27% to ₹191.39 crore. Finance costs edged down to ₹24.24 crore from ₹24.49 crore.
For April–September 2026, consolidated net profit increased 77.5% to ₹192.15 crore, while revenue grew 33.7% to ₹2,919.12 crore. Customer orders, capacity utilisation and financing costs will influence the new plant’s eventual contribution to earnings.
