Saturday, December 20, 2014: Rewa district’s Gudh area in Madhya Pradesh will soon witness the installation of the world’s biggest 750MW solar power station, told Rajendra Shukla, Madhya Pradesh Energy and Mining minister.
He said that World Bank will provide 50 per cent loan for the ultra mega solar power project set up and the rest would be borne by the joint venture of Centre and the state. He told that the representatives from World Bank had visited Gudh, who then found out the tract of barren land for commissioning the project most appropriate.
Shukla then had even mentioned about the Asia’s biggest solar power plant with the capacity of 130MW which is already functioning in MP’s Neemuch district. He said that the central government has already added the state in the green corridor and had even grated the sum of Rs 21,000 million to the state under it. He noted about Rs 2330 million, given to the state to as encouragement money for promoting new and renewable energy sources.
The minister told that 1300 MW power has been tapped within the last 12 months and the government has also given round-the-clock power to industries and household across the state. He said that power supply required for the agriculture farming purposes was increased by 10-hour on daily basis.
