MediaTek led the shipments, while Qualcomm grabbed the most revenue in Q2 2022
As per the latest reports, the second quarter of this year witnessed MediaTek dominate the global smartphone AP (Application Processor)/SoC (System on Chip) Shipments. MediaTek occupied a huge share of 39% with its Helio G series and Dimensity 700 series in the low-mid tier wholesale price segment. Other major players captured the shipment share as illustrated: Qualcomm (29%), Apple(14%), Unisoc(11%), and Samsung(6%).
Going by Revenue, Qualcomm stood first in this quarter of 2022, with a whopping 44% share in the AP market. It must be noted that Qualcomm witnessed a growth of 56% YoY in its share in the segment. As Qualcomm and Samsung have announced a collaboration for the galaxy s22 family, the premium tier revenues are all set to grow further in the coming months. Other major players captured the market revenue as illustrated: Apple(23%), MediaTek(22%), Samsung(8%), and Unisoc(3%).
