The new offering combines charging infrastructure, energy management, and maintenance to help businesses electrify fleets across the UK and Germany.
Mercedes-Benz and ChargePoint have partnered to introduce a workplace charging solution for commercial fleet operators in the UK and Germany, aiming to simplify the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) through a single, end-to-end service.
The collaboration combines vehicle expertise, charging infrastructure, software, and maintenance into one offering, enabling businesses to deploy and manage EV charging without coordinating multiple vendors. The initiative is designed to address one of the biggest challenges in fleet electrification: building and operating reliable charging infrastructure.
The solution covers every stage of deployment, including site assessment, infrastructure planning, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. Charging systems are tailored to each business based on fleet size, daily vehicle usage, operational requirements, future expansion plans, and sustainability objectives.
ChargePoint will install both AC and DC charging stations while working to minimise disruption to business operations. The platform also incorporates smart energy management tools that help companies optimize charging efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Key features include intelligent load balancing, automated charging and energy reports, charging cost analysis, integration with solar photovoltaic systems, compatibility with battery energy storage systems, and advanced energy management capabilities. These features are designed to help businesses scale their EV fleets while making better use of available power resources.
Mercedes-Benz said the new offering complements home and public charging options by providing commercial customers with a dedicated workplace charging solution. According to Nico Dettmer, global head of Mercedes-Benz charging solutions at Mercedes-Benz AG, fleet operators increasingly require integrated charging services alongside electric vehicles to accelerate fleet electrification and improve operational efficiency.
The partnership combines Mercedes-Benz’s portfolio of electric commercial vehicles with ChargePoint’s charging technology to provide businesses with a comprehensive EV ecosystem.
Initially available in the UK and Germany, the integrated solution is expected to support companies looking to expand electric fleets while preparing for future energy and charging requirements.
