Domestic mobile phone manufacturer, Micromax is planning to enter the home appliances category.
The company is eying to become a full-fledged consumer electronics company in the next two years as the domestic player is foraying into the air conditioner manufacturing.
According to media reports, Micromax is also looking to bet big on the four largest categories of consumer electronics, comprising of televisions, air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines. These four categories total up to 90 percent of India’s Rs 45,000 crore consumer electronics market.
Micromax has earlier announced its vision to be the first Indian company to build a complete services ecosystem to offer a seamless experience on more than 100 million connected devices in the next two years. Taking this vision forward, the Canvas 6 will come integrated with its Micromax’s services platform ‘AROUND’ which has a suite relevant services rolled into one discovery window for the users. With AROUND on the device, a user can use the single sign to access any service as well as pay for it using the native wallet to complete experience.
