Tuesday, October 28, 2014: Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has been awarded with ISO certification, ISO 9001:2008, and it proves that the ministry has implemented a quality management system. According to an official statement, MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra said that ISO standards’ implementation will enable further improvement in the ministry and their functioning will become more transparent in coming days.
Mishra was happy with the accomplishment and stated that it’s a matter of pride for his entire ministry. He also praised his officers and entire staff for their hard work so far. The cabinet secretariat issued guidelines to all ministries and departments to get this certificate. Since then the ministry started working accordingly and constituted a management committee to achieve the goal.
The ministry personnel were provided several rounds of training and manuals were also prepared to meet the ISO requirements. TUV India Ltd looked after the audit of Quality Management Systems of the ministry and Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the audits were completed in September 2014.
