US-based deep-tech company Mixx Technologies, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Bengaluru-based Sophic Silicon Technologies and entered into a multi-year manufacturing collaboration with Kaynes Semicon Private Limited, strengthening India’s role in the global AI semiconductor value chain.
The acquisition integrates Sophic Silicon’s analog mixed-signal semiconductor IP and engineering team into Mixx Technologies. Sophic Silicon, a beneficiary of India’s Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, develops advanced CMOS-based analog mixed-signal IP, which will now form the electronic IC foundation of Mixx’s HBxIO™ co-packaged optics (CPO) platform for AI infrastructure.
Alongside the acquisition, Mixx has partnered with Kaynes Semicon, an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) company supported under India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, to establish advanced optical IC test and assembly capabilities. The collaboration aims to support packaging and testing of next-generation optical integrated circuits required for hyperscale AI deployments.
The company said the two strategic moves together establish both semiconductor design and manufacturing operations for its AI interconnect platform in India, creating an integrated development and production ecosystem.
Mixx’s HBxIO™ platform uses co-packaged optics technology to improve data transfer between AI accelerators and processors by integrating photonic engines directly alongside ASICs. The technology is designed to increase bandwidth while reducing power consumption, addressing one of the key bottlenecks in large-scale AI data centers.
Following the acquisition, Sophic Silicon’s founders and engineering team will join Mixx Technologies’ product development organization and continue expanding research and development activities from Bengaluru.

Deepak Pancholi, Founder of Sophic Silicon Technologies, said joining Mixx would enable the company’s technology to reach global hyperscale computing deployments while continuing innovation from India.
Commenting on the manufacturing partnership, Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes Semicon Private Limited, said the collaboration demonstrates the capability of India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem to support advanced optical IC packaging for global AI hardware applications.
Mixx Technologies currently operates from San Jose, California, with R&D operations in India and facilities in Taiwan. The company said it is expanding its Bengaluru center as its global hub for analog mixed-signal and photonics IC development while working with cloud service providers to qualify the HBxIO™ platform for AI training and inference infrastructure.
