Mouser Electronics Leads in Implementation of Vertical Lift Modules

  • The company claims VLMs can reduce an employee’s walking time by 45 percent or higher
  • Mouser is constructing a 50,000 square-foot office building at its Dallas-Fort Worth global headquarters

Semiconductor and electronic component distributor Mouser Electronics has come out as the leader in its implementation of Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) in North America from its global distribution center in Texas according to a report by Businesswire. Presently, Mouser has 55 Vertical Lift Modules which includes 11 new modules. The company claims that it will make this product available to 630,000 customers globally after the VLMs can house up to 120,000 parts in total.

The report also says that VLMs are big vertical filing cabinets with shelves and an automated elevator and can store thousands of electronic components. When it is activated by an employee, the VLMs deliver the components directly to the workstation which increases efficiency and floor space. Mouser claims these machines can reduce an employee’s walking time by 45 percent or higher.

Mouser coming up with new office building at Dallas headquarters

The company is also constructing a 50,000 square-foot office building at its Dallas-Fort Worth global headquarters. The company currently has 27 offices worldwide which includes new offices in Poland, Vietnam and Brazil that opened this year.

Glenn Smith, president and CEO of Mouser Electronics told Businesswire that the digital revolution is creating global demand for electronic components. To meet the demand, the company is making capital investment in automation systems to expand capacity and maximize efficiencies.
