Around $21 million of the investment will come from Kamath and $5 million from Vanga.

Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath and entrepreneur Sreeram Reddy Vanga will collectively invest ₹250 crore ($26 million) in CtrlS datacentres, with the former investing $21 million and the latter putting in almost $5 million.
The investment comes at a time when demand for datacentre capacity in India is rising with the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital workloads.
Founded by Sridhar Pinnapureddy, CtrlS operates hyperscale datacentres. It is Asia’s largest Rated-4 (Tier-4) datacentre and managed service provider. It counts financial institutions and government organisations amongst its customers.
The fresh capital infusion in CtrlS’ infrastructure is to cater to rising demand of enterprises and hyperscalers.
“Every meaningful technology shift of the next decade, AI, cloud, and digital public infrastructure, runs on data centres. India is at an inflection point where the underlying infrastructure either keeps pace or becomes the bottleneck. CtrlS has spent years building the kind of depth that does not get assembled overnight. That is what made this an easy decision,” Kamath said.
Vanga, while praising Pinnapureddy’s vision, said that AI and cloud ambitions will require digital infrastructure to be built at scale.
Pinnapureddy said that the partnership with Kamath and Vanga would allow CtrlS to scale faster and build data-centre platforms to support India’s next phase of digital growth.
The investment signals the growing interests of Indian entrepreneurs in datacentre infrastructure as AI adoption and cloud computing drive demand for better storage systems.
