OpenAI and NVIDIA announces plan to deploy at least 10 gigawatts of NVIDIA GPUs. The agreement is to support OpenAI’s AI infrastructure to train and run its next generation of models on the path to deploying superintelligence.
The first gigawatt is scheduled for the second half of 2026 on NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform GPUs. NVIDIA says it will invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI. The scale involves millions of GPUs.

OpenAI is set to work with NVIDIA as a preferred strategic compute and networking partner for its AI factory growth plans by co-optimize their roadmaps for OpenAI’s model infrastructure and NVIDIA’s hardware and software.
OpenAI has grown to over 700 million weekly active users and strong adoption across global enterprises, small businesses and developers. This partnership is set to advance OpenAI’s mission in building artificial general intelligence (AGI).
