Friday, August 23, 2013: With the aim of making a revenue of Rs 1000 million, the Taiwanese company, which provides power back-up solution, CyberPower Systems has forayed into the Indian market with a range of product that include UPS, inverters, rake power distribution units along with mobile and car chargers.
Apart from this, the company aims to invest Rs 500 million in a period of time on the basis of progress made by the company. The company’s target is to achieve 30 per cent market share in the UPS segment, 30 per cent in inverter segment and 40 per cent in the accessories segment.
“The market growth has increased by 400 per cent in accessories market and therefore, we are exploiting this opportunity,” said Arun Ghosh, managing director, CyberPower Systems India.
On being asked about the time the company has set to achieve this target, Ghosh replied, “We may achieve the target in maybe two month or it might take one year,” he said this today at a press conference in New Delhi. “Companies are shifting their focus, therefore a gap has been created in the market that needs to be filled, hence we are here to fill the gap. Though, we have entered the market late, we have entered the market at the right time and at the right place,” he added.
Ghosh added, “Our product can help consumers save 75 per cent of power consumption.”
The firm CyberPower Systems India, which is headquartered in Mumbai is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CyberPower Systems based in Taiwan. It has two warehouses in the country, one in Mumbai and the other one in Kolkata. When asked if the company had any plans to establish a manufacturing facility in India, Ghosh stated, “Two key problems prevail in the present scenario, firstly, supply chain is not good and secondly, they do not have many choices when it comes to purchase of components, hence if they wait for a particular component, they can be out of the competition, but, in case situation improves, we may plan to set up a manufacturing facility in the country.”
Meanwhile, the company is developing dealer networks across India and aims to become a leading player in offering power solutions throughout the Indian market.
