To drive product industrialisation and competitiveness, BorgWarner appoints Chandrasekar Krishnamurthy as Global Director of Product Management.
US-based BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems has appointed Chandrasekar Krishnamurthy as Global Director of Product Management, effective March 1, 2025. In this role, Krishnamurthy will oversee the product management team and lead efforts to enhance the company’s competitiveness in cost, technical maturity, time to market, and compliance.
According to the company, Krishnamurthy will focus on speeding up product industrialisation, working with other teams to create competitive product solutions. He will ensure product roadmaps align with the company’s strategy and sales goals. Additionally, he will look after timely, compliant solutions are delivered, driving engineering efficiency to boost productivity and margins.
Prior to this appointment, Krishnamurthy served as Global Director of Engineering for ePropulsion Systems at BorgWarner, where he managed a global team of 1700 engineers. His previous roles also include Vice President of Engineering for Electronics at HELLA and various leadership positions at Continental.
With expertise in systems engineering, software engineering, and cybersecurity, he has a proven track record of managing complex engineering projects and driving innovation.
BorgWarner has expanded its operations in India with the inauguration of the India Propulsion Engineering Centre (IPEC) in Bengaluru in January 2023. The 95,000-square-foot facility focuses on developing electric propulsion systems like inverters and battery management systems. By the end of 2023, IPEC aimed to employ over 550 engineers. In July 2024, the company established a high voltage propulsion engineering laboratory to support advanced testing of electric vehicles.
