K Rajaraman Appointed Secretary of Department of Telecommunications

Rajaraman was earlier associated with the the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) as an additional secretary of investments

Kalyanaraman Rajaraman has been appointed as the new secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). He replaces Anshu Prakash, the former DoT secretary.

A lot of experts are seeing the appointment of Rajaraman as a step closer towards prime Minister’s aatnirbhar bharat. Rajaraman, a Tamil Nadu cadre 1989-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer, will take over his new role post the superannuation of Prakash. The latter’s term comes to an end on 30 September 2021.

Rajaraman was earlier associated with the the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) as an additional secretary of investments.

“We congratulate Shri K. Rajaraman on his appointment as Secretary, DoT, India. We look forward to working with him for the development and growth of the sector that is vital to the Government’s Digital India vision,” tweeted ICEA
