LIC’s decision to appoint Pradeep Pandey is a deliberate step towards bolstering its digital footprint and fostering innovation. This aligns with the wider movement of financial entities adopting technology to optimize operations and provide superior customer service. Pandey is expected to lead the LIC team to make strides in the digital marketplace with his expertise in domestic and international markets.
As the Axis Bank’s SVP, Pandey headed many projects and initiatives such as Bill Pay, ONDC and the e-commerce platform Grab Deals. Aside from Axis Bank, he has names like Tata AIA Life Insurance in his resume, where he was in charge of digital operations and Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance, where he held the position of Senior-VP.
LIC is in the process of revamping its significant leadership workforce. Other than Pradeep Pandey as CDO, Tablesh Pandey and M. Jagannath were appointed as additional managing directors to guide the organisation. Siddhartha Mohanty was also onboarded by the government as the new LIC chairperson till 29th June 2024; after that, he will be taking over as the MD and CEO till 7th June 2025.
These changes in leadership positions certainly mean the corporation is adapting more towards the digital market and catering to more customers.
