During its 3rd Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, the Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA) named Preeti Bajaj, CEO and MD of Luminous Power Technologies, as its new President. Previously serving as Vice President, Bajaj plans to drive the industry forward by promoting sustainable practices and technological innovations.
At its third Annual General Meeting, the Indian Battery Manufacturers Association (IBMA) announced the appointment of Preeti Bajaj, the CEO and Managing Director of Luminous Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd., as its new President. Preeti Bajaj, who previously held the position of Vice President, is taking over from Arun Mittal, the former president of Exide Industries Ltd. Additionally, Rajesh Jindal, the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd., has been elected as the new Vice President.
Preeti Bajaj is committed to furthering the objectives of the IBMA, which are centred around fostering a sustainable, innovative, and globally competitive battery manufacturing sector within India. Her focus is on spearheading technological innovations, promoting environmentally friendly practices, and reinforcing India’s leadership position on the global stage. Bajaj has expressed her pride and enthusiasm about assuming this pivotal role and looks forward to working closely with other members to drive significant progress both domestically and internationally.
The meeting also saw participation from representatives of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, who recognized and commended the IBMA’s efforts and proposals concerning the enforcement of the new Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR 2022).
The election of Preeti Bajaj as president represents a crucial advancement for the association during a period characterized by swift technological developments and changing environmental regulations.
