Tablet-Based Command-and-Control System for Drone Defence

DroneSentry-C2T enables the networking of C-UASs, regardless of the number, to establish a central point of awareness and response.

DroneShield has unveiled its latest product, DroneSentry-C2 Tactical (DroneSentry-C2T). It is a rugged, tablet-based command-and-control system designed to deliver real-time situational awareness for countering drones. The product has successfully completed trials with the US Department of Defence.

This system features an intuitive satellite map-based display and facilitates two-way communication between users and the network of counter-drone devices. It allows for demonstrating drone detections from a network of sensors back to a central point on a rugged user tablet. It can activate drone defeat systems in legally permissive areas.

DroneSentry-C2T is a field-ready version of DroneShield’s primary Command-and-Control solution, DroneSentry-C2. It enables operators to maintain awareness of various portable, on-the-move, and fixed-site systems within their area of interest. The system can integrate with both DroneShield’s own devices and third-party equipment, such as the RfPatrol body-worn drone detector and the DroneSentry-X mobile and fixed-site drone detection and defeat system.

The handheld Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) devices are a cost-effective solution for mass-scale drone detection and defeat capabilities, as can be seen in Ukraine. DroneSentry-C2T enables the networking of these devices, regardless of the number, to establish a central point of awareness and response, whether in the hands of a single master user or distributed among multiple field users.

The introduction of DroneSentry-C2T not only enhances the solutions available to existing DroneShield users but also provides an entry-level C2 solution for customers who may not require the full DroneSentry offering.

“It allows personnel on the ground to take a more strategic view of the area of operation. The release of the DroneSentry-C2T enables us to utilise our position as the global leader in the C-UAS handheld systems, and introduce the world’s first command-and-control system for a hand-held C-UAS environment,” said Angus Bean, DroneShield’s chief technology officer (CTO).
