The facility brings R&D engineering and quality teams together to strengthen collaboration across every stage of product development.
RECOM Power GmbH has opened a new Research and Development Centre and SMT prototyping line in Xiamen China marking expansion of its global R&D footprint and manufacturing capabilities.
The new facility brings together R&D engineering and quality teams in a single location enabling closer collaboration across the full product development cycle. The integrated set up is designed to accelerate design iterations, improve design for manufacturability and speed up verification testing trial runs and mass production approval.
A dedicated SMT prototyping line allows RECOM to rapidly produce samples and initial stock significantly reducing development timelines and enabling faster customer feedback and validation. The company said this will strengthen its ability to deliver high performance application optimised power supply solutions with greater speed and consistency.
Chief executive Karsten Bier said the Xiamen centre represents a major step forward for the company by combining innovation engineering excellence and manufacturing agility. He said the close interaction between teams and the investment in rapid prototyping would allow RECOM to respond to customer requirements with greater precision and shorter lead times.
The Xiamen R&D Centre will serve as a key hub for the development of next generation power conversion technologies supporting both regional and global projects. It is expected to play an important role in advancing new designs from concept through to production.
The new centre complements RECOM’s existing design and manufacturing operations across Europe, the United States and Asia. The company said the expanded network will help ensure consistent product quality while strengthening its ability to innovate and support customers worldwide.
