Cutting 8,348 tonnes of CO2 in 2025, Routematic showcases how AI powered shared electric commutes can transform cleaner corporate mobility.
Routematic announced a major sustainability achievement on National Pollution Control Day, reporting a cumulative reduction of 8348 tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2025 through its AI enabled, EV supported and shared corporate commute network. The company, which serves more than 300 enterprises across India, said the milestone highlights how technology driven routing and shared mobility can lower urban emissions and strengthen corporate ESG outcomes.
The largest reductions came from India’s busiest corporate hubs, including 2174.9 tonnes in Delhi NCR, 2007 tonnes in Hyderabad, 1914.5 tonnes in Pune, 1650.8 tonnes in Bengaluru, 494.2 tonnes in Chennai and 107.2 tonnes in Mumbai. Routematic said the combined benefit is equal to planting more than 375000 trees in a year or removing over 1800 cars from Indian roads, underscoring the impact of optimised commute systems on city level pollution.
Routematic manages more than 3.5 lakh daily employee rides across IT, ITeS, GCC, BFSI and new age enterprises, making it one of the country’s largest employee transport networks. The milestone comes as major metros continue to face severe and recurring air pollution, with transportation contributing about 14 percent of national CO2 emissions and road transport accounting for the vast majority of that share.
Founder and chief executive Sriram Kannan said employee commute remains an overlooked contributor to urban pollution and must become central to India’s pollution control strategy. He said AI, electric vehicles and shared mobility can deliver measurable climate gains while ensuring safe and reliable travel for employees.
The achievement follows Routematic’s 40 million dollar Series C round in May 2025, which is supporting EV fleet expansion, stronger AI capabilities, new operations command centres and a focused effort to expand its driver workforce, including more women drivers across India.
