RRP Electronics already operates an OSAT facility in Mahape that serves sectors such as automotive, industrial and telecommunications
RRP Electronics Limited has secured a 101-acre industrial land parcel in Maharashtra as it moves forward with plans to build a large semiconductor manufacturing and advanced packaging campus in the state.
The Navi Mumbai-based company has been allotted Industrial Plot No. A-1 in the Khalapur Phase-3 and Expansion Industrial Area. The land spans around 101 acres (about 410,000 square metres). The planned campus will include several Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) production lines, advanced wafer-level packaging (WLP) facilities and, if approvals are received, possible semiconductor fabrication (fab) units in the future.
Rajendra Chodankar, Chairman of RRP Electronics, called the land allocation an important step in the company’s expansion plans.
He said that the 101-acre site at Khalapur will help the company build a large and integrated semiconductor manufacturing campus in Maharashtra. The company plans to develop the project in phases, gradually adding packaging, advanced wafer-level packaging and possible fabrication capabilities once required approvals are obtained.
The Khalapur project will be developed in phases as part of the company’s broader investment strategy. Phase I will involve an investment of ₹12,035 crore, while Phase II will add ₹24,000 crore, taking the total planned investment to more than ₹36,000 crore.
The integrated campus will bring packaging, advanced wafer-level packaging and possible fabrication facilities together at one location. This approach is expected to improve operational efficiency and allow future expansion as demand grows.
RRP Electronics already operates an OSAT facility in Mahape that serves sectors such as automotive, industrial and telecommunications. The new campus will help the company expand further into high-growth areas including automotive electronics, industrial systems, telecom infrastructure and consumer applications.
The company is also backed by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar as a strategic investor and has technical collaborations with Taiwanese partners for legacy packaging and memory modules. Through these efforts, RRP Electronics aims to play an important role in strengthening India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem and supporting the country’s efforts to build local chip manufacturing capabilities.
