Tuesday, December 03, 2013: After having acquired Luminous in 2011, French major Schneider Electric is making use of Luminous outlets for distributing its products in India.
Anil Chaudhry, India managing director, Schneider Electric told ET, “We made a foray into retail business in India after acquiring Luminous in 2011 and now we are distributing the retail products from some 50,000 outlets the brand manages.”
The energy management company has been distributing a range of products that include switches, sockets and distribution systems for home and small and medium business segments through retail outlets.
The company has received good response from both tier II and III cities for its automation products for home and small offices and is now reaching out to other areas across the country.
Chaudhry told ET that the company remains open to both organic and inorganic growth strategy. The company acquired UPS maker, APC and security system firm, Zycom in the last few years to grow its business.
